RheinBüdchen" kiosk

Our RheinBüdchen - history meets the present on the banks of the Rhine
Directly on the Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer, below the Hohenzollern Bridge, stands a real piece of Cologne history: the RheinBüdchen. What is now a popular meeting place for walkers, boat enthusiasts and connoisseurs was once the ticket booth and refreshment pavilion of the Linden ferry company - and has been since 1951.
The charming pavilion with its striking flat roof and rounded corners was designed by architect Willy Döring and is a typical example of post-war architecture from the 1950s. It embodies the lightness and spirit of optimism of this period, when small kiosks and drinking establishments helped to shape the cityscape.
In 2022, Kölntourist Personenschiffahrt applied for listed building status - with success. After two years of careful renovation, the old kiosk became the new RheinBüdchen: a place where you can enjoy the view of the Rhine with a coffee, ice cream or a cool drink. Ship tickets and small souvenirs are also available here - in the spirit of its original use.
The RheinBüdchen is more than just a stall: it is a symbol of the combination of tradition and urban lifestyle - right in the heart of Cologne.
