MS Moby Dick
The ship of our sister shipping company BFF in Bonn

Moby Dick - the white whale in the Rhine:
On May 18, 1966, Rhine boatmen near Duisburg reported something unbelievable: a white whale was swimming upstream in the Rhine. What initially sounded like a sailor's yarn was reality: accompanied by numerous onlookers, including participants at a federal press conference, the animal, soon to be called "Moby Dick", swam as far as Bonn until it turned back and disappeared again like a mirage around a month after appearing in the North Sea.
This event inspired the Schmitz family to build the MS Moby Dick. The ship was built at the Oberkassel shipyard and put into service in May 1976. It operates mainly on the Rhine route between Bonn and Linz, but also on special dates from Cologne or Koblenz.

The spacious and elegant saloon provides the perfect backdrop for events such as Rhine in Flames, Cologne Lights or the big fireworks display at the turn of the year. However, it also offers a special ambience for corporate events, wedding celebrations or anniversaries.
The Moby Dick's fully equipped kitchen offers a wide range of culinary delights: drinks and food, coffee and cake or ice cream are available on all cruises. On exclusive cruises, guests can put together their own rich buffets and snacks.
